If you are a not a St. Lucian citizen but wish to purchase property in St. Lucia, you can do so by acquiring an Alien's Landholding License. Here is an overview to guide you through the process.

Fees associated with the Alien's Landholding License:

  • Application fee – US $1800
  • Stamp duty – 2% of the purchasing price
  • Solicitor’s fees – 3% - 5% of the purchasing price

Application materials for the Alien's Landholding License

These are submitted by your lawyer to the office of the Attorney General.

  • Completed application form
  • Details of the property you wish to purchase
  • A value assessment of the property
  • Statutory declaration
  • Four passport-sized photographs
  • Background check from your local police station
  • Treasury receipt for application fee
  • Approval from the Development Control Authority on intended use of the property
